Carolyn Ann Moch Williams was born to William Moch, Jr., and Joy Marie Allums Moch on February 13, 1948, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was the second born of five daughters. As a child, she was taught the love of God and the importance of education and helping others.
After graduating from Booker T. Washington High School in May 1966, Carolyn enrolled at Wiley College in Marshall, Texas. While at Wiley, she pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and received her undergraduate degree in Sociology in 1970. The same year, she married her college sweetheart, Norris Gerald Williams. To this union, three sons and one daughter were born. With a love for God, her family and her community, Carolyn taught Sunday School at Fairview Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, OK and was a teacher and counselor in the Oklahoma City Public School System. With a fervent desire to continue her education, Carolyn earned a Master’s Degree from the University of Oklahoma in Human Relations and a certification in Psychometry. These accomplishments led to a 24-year career at Metro Technology Centers in Oklahoma City, OK, in Career Technical Education in which her purpose was “always to help others to find their purpose through work.”After retiring from her profession of career guidance and counseling in June 2011, Carolyn Moch was called to write. In this new chapter of her life, she authored multiple Christian calendars and six books. Her most recently published book Who Are You and Why are You Here? Believers Guide to Divine Purpose, is further testament to her never-ending desire to be of service to others and to “seek the path God has chosen for us. It’s a path of joy, peace and liberty.”
Throughout her life, Carolyn Moch Williams was a faithful servant in her walk with Christ. She was an active member at her church home, Greater New Zion Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, OK, under the leadership of Reverend Dr. James H. Tucker. There, she joined the choir and the Women’s Ministry. Upon relocating to Texas, she united with Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, TX, in January 2018, under the pastorate of Dr. Tony Evans. She joined the Prayer Warriors Ministry and remained active until the Lord called her home on June 9, 2018.
Both of Carolyn’s parents preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory and pass on her legacy: four sisters, Varon Knox of Matteson, IL, Vinita Ricks of Belize, CA, Cheryl Johnson of Shreveport, LA, and Willette Burrell of Waskom, TX; four children, Diarra Williams of Dallas, TX, Ayanna Williams-Ward of Fort Worth, TX, Jawanza Williams of Oklahoma City, OK, and Norris Williams of Edmond, OK; two daughters-in-law, Joezette Williams and Shannon Williams; son-in-law, Matthew Ward; five grandchildren, Malcolm Williams, Julian Williams, Mitchell Williams, Gabrielle Williams, and Tyson Ward; and many other relatives and friends.
