Birth…..Donald Ray Curlin was the fifth child born To Mathew Curlin and Odessa Scott Curlin on Monday, July 30, 1951 in Dallas, Texas.
Education…..Donald matriculated thru the DISD attending George Washington Carver Elem., Sequoyah Junior High School and graduating from L. G. Pinkston High School in the class of' 1969.
Spiritual Affiliation…..Donald was raised in a Christian Household where he received his spiritual growth. At Donald's demise, he was a member of Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Jeffery Thomas Sr. Donald was a faithful member until his health prevailed.
Marriage…..At a special time in Donald's life, he met His forever love Dexter Mae Ford. The blissful couple were Then joined in holy matrimony on December 13, 1997.
Hobbies…..Donald loved cooking, watching sports (especially His Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks), playing video Games and tinkering with his vintage "Oldsmobile Cutlass".
Life's Earthly End…..As life would have it, Donald Ray, a Loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, brother-in Law, cousin, friend and faithful servant; went in peace to be with His Father in Heaven on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas surrounded by his loving family.
Those who proceeded him in death were his parents, Mathew and Odessa Curlin; Son: Cedric Smith; Brother: Donald Wayne Curlin Sister: Janice Curlin Burroughs, Maternal and Paternal Grandparents.
Left to Cherish His Memories…..Beloved wife of 23 years Dexter Curlin; sons: John Earl West (Sharonda) of Garland, TX, Aldrick Devon West (Yolanda) of Lancaster, TX; daughter: Artavia Jackson-Taylor (Topaz) of Dallas, TX; brother: Leroy Curlin (Dorise) of Ft. Worth, TX; Sister: Jennifer Hughes of Dallas, TX; nephew: Paul Hightower of Dallas, TX; nieces: Tammie Rush and Monica Sadler ofDallas, TX; Cheryl Luster (Kevin) of Waskom, TX; April Dupree of Kilgore, TX; eight grandchildren; numerous great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and trusted caregiver, Cynthia Mays.
