ELROY HOBBS

October 5, 1946 — April 14, 2021

Elroy Hobbs was born on October 5, 1946 in Lubbock Texas to Tommy D. Hobbs and Minnie Ola Hobbs. He was one of five brothers and three sisters. After high school, he entered the military in Amarillo Texas.

While in the military he met and married Louise Robinson, in Providence Rhode Island, in 1969. They have four children. After his military tours he retired in 1988, thus becoming a US Veteran. He then proceeded to work for the U.S. Postal Service. After leaving the postal service he then worked for Department of Homeland Security in  which he retired due to health issues.

Elroy enjoyed his military life and the  many people who  he met  along the way. He loved the travel and to see so many different places across the world. And when it came time for retirement, he was ready. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. He Lived, Loved, and Laughed with his family.

Elroy leaves behind his loving wife, Louise; three daughters and one son, Yolanda Johnikin (Jessie, Alexis, Aaliyah and JoAnna), Helena Stanley (David, Candace, and Haley}, Damon Hobbs (Joelynn, Brandy) Angela Jackson (Curtis, Jasmine, Destiny, Marcel, and Jordan); great grandkids: Ashton, Ayden, Amari and Alicia; his serving sister, Florence Lee (Barbra Ann, Clarence Jr., Alberta, and Latoya); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Elroy was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy  D. Hobbs and Minnie Ola Hobbs; his brothers and two of his sisters, Rufus, Australia, Elmer, TJ, Samuel, Woodie Mae, Autry; and Brother-in-law Clarence Lee, and niece Carol Wallace .
