KENNETH KING

August 29, 1959 — September 21, 2019

1st HALF

KENNETH WAYNE KING, SR.  transitioned peacefully on September 21, 2019.  He was  born on August 29, 1959 in Winnie, Texas to Joseph Phillip King Sr, and Laura Mae Henry King.  He attended East Chamber High School and graduated in 1978. After high school Ken enlisted into the United States Air Force, as  a Security Specialist from August 1978 to February 1980.  He attained the rank of A1C-E-3 and was stationed at Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota.  After he was honorable discharged from the Air Force, he continued his career in the security field. He attended Lamar University Regional Academy, graduated and became a Police Officer for the university in Beaumont, Texas.  He also served as a Police Officer in Orange, Texas.  He decided to change career field and began working in accounts receivable, where he  received numerous awards,  certificates of recognition and appreciation for total dollars collected and recovered.

HALF TIME

Ken relocated to Dallas, Texas where  he met the love of his life Regina Lacy. They dated for a few years and were united in holy matrimony on October 27, 2001.   He was a man after God’s heart, and was ordained as Reverend Kenneth King on December 9, 2001, under the leadership of Reverend Nolan Hightower.  In 2008, Ken and Regina became devoted members of New Life Fellowship Church. Continuing with his life mission, Ken served in several ministries: Man-up Ministry, Couples Life Group, NLF Choir, and teaching Life Begins – A Biblical Foundation for New Members.  He was a faithful member and attended 3 services, just to be in the presence of the Lord with his brothers and sisters in Christ. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, spending time with his family and friends.  Ken was known by his friends and family as “AJ” the stand-up comedian.  He loved sharing the Word of God, by teaching numerous bible classes and was TOTALLY SOLD OUT FOR CHRIST.  Ken had a love for football, he bled blue and silver, even through their worst defeats, and their greatest triumphs, no matter the weather, time, day or night, he was a die-hard  Dallas Cowboys fan.

2nd  HALF

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Phillip King Sr., and Laura Mae Henry King, brothers, George and David King, and sister, Cynthia King.

Just as every football game end, so does  life here on earth.  Because Ken accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, he is resting in his eternal home called “Heaven”.  Until we meet again, he leaves his love to cherish his memory; Proverbs 31 wife, Regina King; siblings Phillip King Jr. (Janelle), Barbara Bowden, Randy King, Debra Griffin, Larry King (Ethel), Danny King, Donald King, Ricky King, Steve Murray, and Stephanie Patrick; children Kenneth King Jr., Lashara King, Chanel King, Xavier King, Kanesha King, and Takea Hall-King; grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
