Maurice Brown

On October 20, 2021 Maurice Brown was called from labor to reward in Ft. Worth, TX due to heart failure.
Maurice was born July 7, 1951, the fifth of nine children born to Mansfield and Iris (Chapman) Brown in Coffeyville, KS. Both parents preceded him in death. He was educated in the Coffeyville School System and graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1969.
In March 1972, Maurice married Rosie Lee Kennard, to whom two children were born, Isaac Brown and Marisa Brown. Rosie and Isaac preceded him in death. After Maurice and Rosie divorced, several years later he remarried and to that union one daughter, Mayia Brown was born.
Maurice spent time working various jobs in the Coffeyville area which included janitorial positions in the Coffeyville School District 445, Coffeyville Memorial Hospital, Montgomery Count Road Maintenance Crew and Sherwin Williams before relocating to Texas. He held several positions as a bus driver for the Airport Authority and school districts in the Fort Worth area and was employed as a school bus driver at the time of his death.
Maurice was baptized and attended Calvary Baptist Church while living in Coffeyville, KS. After settling in Fort Worth, he joined East Saint Paul Baptist Church pastored by Rev. Darrell Ward. Maurice enjoyed riding motorcycles in his free time.
Maurice is survived by his two daughters Marisa Brown of Coffeyville, KS and Mayia Brown of Fort Worth, TX. He is also survived by his siblings; Geneva Germany of Shreveport, LA, Loretta Kennard of Cibolo, TX, Melvin Brown of Everman, TX, Charlotte Cummings and Lynda Tittle both of Wichita, KS, Winifred Nash (Charles) of Nowata, OK, Michael Brown of Kansas City, MO and Mitchel Brown (Deborah) of Fort Worth, TX. Maurice also leaves to cherish his memory an aunt: Wilda Chapman of Lowell, MA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life for Maurice Brown will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Fort Worth, TX.
