ALPHA EARLES

September 5, 1953 — July 25, 2022

ALPHA BARNETT EARLES entered into eternal rest and peace on July 25, 2022 in Dallas, Texas. He was born on September 5, 1953 to Willie Eddie Earles in Galveston, TX. Alpha served as her doting caretaker from early childhood to her death. He was a sentimental, spiritual, worldly wise, caring, unconventional person that always had an encouraging, inspirational word or witty comment to share when interacting with others. He loved his family and extended family.

Alpha was preceded in death by his mother, his only sister, Ava Collins; grandparents, Willie and Samuel Earles; two aunts, Jewell Banks and Octavia Earles; three uncles, Clever Dean Lewis, Matthew Henry Earles, and James Turner; one great-nephew, LaMarcus Washington; and cousin, Deborah Holman Smith.

Al, as he lovingly was called, attended public schools in Galveston, Texas. He was christened and received his formative Christian teachings at his family's home church, St. Paul United Methodist Church. Al later moved to Dallas, Texas where he joined and was baptized at Friendship West Baptist Church. He later branched out into his own ministry of daily texts devotionals ending each text with his favorite saying, "Peace" Romans 10:9 **. The love of his life was his "Street Ministry" where he shared Biblical concepts with the homeless, prisioners, people in shelters, and people on the streets. Al was loved, respected, admired, and touched many lives on his God given purpose. Along with his ministry, Al worked as a manager for WalMart at various locations throughout Dallas until his illness led him to an early retirement.

Alpha leaves to cherish his memories: three aunts, Sammie Lee Earles Lewis, Evelyn Earles Jones, and Sarah Earles Turner; two nieces, Roshanda Earles and Alicia Collins; three great nieces: Chrishanda Gilbert, LaMonica Washington, and Toni Brooks; two great nephews, Dominic Blanks and Marquis Artmore; two great great nephews, Tamar Brooks and Qumari Calhoun-Pope ; 3 great great nieces, London Washington, Aniyah Brooks, and Andrea Hawkins; four 1st cousins, Christopher Banks(Elnora), Brenda Pomier (Wilson), Pastor John Paul Lewis (Lorraine), and Christal- Joy Jewell Turner; eight 2nd cousins, Andrew B. Earles, Sr.(Dr. Terri), Stephanie Packer(Judge Terrance Packer), Christal Banks Cottingham (Brandyn); Antoine Lewis(Alena), Octavius Atkins, Sr., Franchessca Lewis, Samuel Lewis, and Ashley Lewis; a childhood and lifelong friend, Steve "Gus" Crooks; and a host of other loving relatives, community workers, dear friends, and beautiful souls in shelters and on the streets in Dallas, Texas.

As requested by Al before his departure to his heavenly home, he was cremated and his ashes will be sprinkled by his family on his birthday in the Gulf of Mexico, body of water surrounding his hometown where he would frequent often to relax, reflect, and recharge his concentration, alertness, and overall well-being physically, mentally, and spiritually.

May his soul rest in eternal peace as he lies in God's care and forever love. His memorial will be held Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Community United Methodist Church at 4501 S Marsalis Ave., Dallas , Tx 75216 at 1 pm.
