Amos Walton Jr. was born October 30, 1958, to the union of Amos Walton, Sr., and Jimmie Walton, in Dallas, Texas. He was the seventh out of eight children. He accepted Christ at an early age.Junior received his formal education in the Dallas Independent School District. In 1982, he married his companion, Jacqueline. To this union were born his two children, Alicia Walton (Lewis) and Amos J. Walton, III. Amos was also the father of Britton Himes. Junior had a passion for driving 18-wheelers. He began a career as a truck driver at Gulf Atlantic, owning several Bob Tail Trucks. He later expanded to long haul driving with P&H Transportation, where he traveled the seven southern states. Later, he joined with his brother, Nathan, at the Walton Trucking Company driving until they both reached retirement. Junior was a football fan of any team that beat the Dallas Cowboys. He was kind to all whom he knew. Amos J. Walton, Jr., departed this life on Friday, June 22, 2018. He is preceded in death by his father, Amos J. Walton, Sr.; his brother, Nathaniel “Nathan” Walton; paternal grandmother, Lula Walton; and maternal grandmother, Clora Garrett.He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Jacqueline Walton; daughter, Alicia Lewis (George); son, Amos J. Walton III; stepson, Michael Smith; mother, Jimmie Walton; five sisters, Violet Jackson (R.C.), Glendora Walton-Pointer, Vicki Walton, Linda Walton Boles (John), and Naomi Garrett; one brother, Jimmy Walton; three grandchildren; one aunt, Emma Hughes; one uncle, Delree Walton; a host of nieces and nephews; two special cousins, Elaine Walker and Parrish Dozier; and extended family and friends who loved Junior and will deeply miss him.
