ARTHUR GARDNER

Arthur Louis Gardner, Sr., was born on February 29, 1956, to the late Bennie Elzy, Jr., and the late Effie Jo Gardner Elzy of Winnsboro, Louisiana. He departed this life on May 20, 2018.

Arthur attended school in Winnsboro, Louisiana. He moved to Dallas, Texas, where he truly enjoyed life.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Charles Elzy and Tommy James Elzy; two sisters, Dorothy Mae Walker and Dorothy Jean McKinney; and a significant other, Dana Johnson.

Arthur Louis Gardner will forever be missed and remembered by his devoted friend, Jamie Braggs; three sons, Arthur Louis Gardner, Jr., Cordell Hawkins, and Arthur Lewis Gardner Fleming; two daughters, Ysatis Nicole Mitchell and Tawana Hawkins; seven sisters, Bobbie Nell Elzy, Willie Jean Gardner, Annie Wafer, Sharon Hollis (James), Gwendolyn Elzy, Bennie Faye Elzy and Jackie Hunter; two brothers, Vernon Elzy and Curtis Ray Hunter; seven grandchildren; one aunt, Coran Elzy; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
