ARTHUR SPARKS

Arthur Malcolm Sparks, Jr. was born on June 22, 1947 in Bynum, TX, to Arthur Sparks, Sr. and Flossie Mae Wilder Sparks.  At the age of 74, he departed this life on Sunday, January, 3, 2021, at his home in Desoto, TX, where he always proudly welcomed his family and friends.

Arthur is survived by two sons:  Marlon Sparks of Meridian, MS; and Kenyatta (Janelle) Sparks of Gonzales, LA.  Five grandchildren:  Keyanta’ St. Cyr (New Orleans, LA), Alexis Sparks (New Orleans, LA), Jared Sparks (Gonzales, LA), Adam Sparks (Gonzales, LA), and Jordan Lugo (New Orleans, LA).  Two great-grandchildren:  Rylee Thompson and Khari Emory (both of New Orleans, LA).  Three brothers:  Bennie Sparks (Dallas, TX), Alvin Sparks (Fort Worth, TX), and Ronnie Sparks (Clearwater, FL); two godchildren:  Carl Graves, Jr. and Jade Blunt; and a host of cherished nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Arthur was preceded in death by both parents, Arthur Sparks, Sr. and Flossie Mae Wilder Sparks; one sister, Patricia Ann Wallace; and, his former wife, Edna Graves Sparks.

Public viewing will be Monday, January 18th from 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, TX.  Graveside service will be on Tuesday, January 19th at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 9:00 am.  All in attendance are required to wear masks and practice social distancing.
