ARTIS WASHINGTON

Artis was born January 30, 1958 on Oakland, California to the parentage of Herman Washington and Lessie B. Page. Artis moved to Fort Worth in 1959. He attended Tremble Tech for a year and finished at Poly Tech in 1976. He also attended Prairie View A&M. Artis whom also was called “Poochie” had three brothers. Kenneth (Dayton) Page, Larry (Wanda) Page and the late William “Bill” (Michelle) Casey. He had nine nieces. He was mentored during his teenage years by Raymond Sauls and a special Aunt named Jean Dixon. Artis worked for FWISD for 19 years. He attended Galatians M. Baptist Church for 54 years and was the head Usher prior to his passing. “Poochie” had many relatives and friends who will miss his quiet and laid back demeanor. We all have lost another devoted soldier for Christ.
