AVA KAY CARTER

January 11, 1956 — February 22, 2024

In the peaceful realm of remembrance and reflection, we together to honor the cherished life of the late Evangelist Ava Kay Carter, affectionately known as "Afro Ava". Ava graced this world with her presence on a profound day of January 11, 1956 in her beloved hometown of Dallas, TX. As the sun of her existence set on February 22, 2024, in the same city, she departed surrounded by love and memories that will forever resonate in the hearts she touched.

Ava's journey was illuminated by her deep-rooted faith, leading her to serve as a Minister at Full Gospel Holy Temple, under the leadership of the late Apostle Lobias & Shirley Murray, and currently Apostle Herman & Lady Danielle Murray, where she shone brightly through her dedication to Prison and Street Ministries. Her indomitable spirit thrived as she shared her testimony with all who crossed her path, leaving an everlasting impact on those privileged to hear her words. She just celebrated her 10yr anniversary for her prison ministry with the Dallas Transitional Home January 2024.

Educated at Lincoln High School with the Class of 1974 and later pursuing Social Work studies at El Centro College, Ava blended her academic knowledge with the warmth of personality. Described as caring, bubbly, and always smiling, enveloped others in a comforting embrace that resonated with all who knew.

Ava's proudest accomplishments were deeply rooted in her unwavering faith – from being saved, sanctified, to being filled with the precious Holy Ghost ablaze with burning fire. Her dedication to Prison Ministry exemplified her commitment to spreading hope and light in places yearning for salvation.

In the tapestry of family and friends that enriched Ava's life, she leaves behind a legacy woven with love. Cherished memories will linger with David Carter "Bang" and Sina Carter "Nay-Nay", Grandchildren: Anterian Gee "Ant", Makayla Carter "Kay-Kay", Aa'Davionia Carter "Shabinka Head"; Fur Baby "Laydee". She reunites in eternity with Parents Norfleet Asbury Carter and Willie Sina Taylor Carter. In gentle repose and treasured memory rest Siblings: Alfred James Jr., Marcia Gail James, Francis Asbury Carter II; Betty Tanner; Donald L. Carter Sr.; Wanda Williams; Don R. Carter Sr., alongside a multitude of beloved relatives and friends.

The chapters written by Ava Kay Carter resonate with echoes of kindness, empathy, and unwavering devotion to those entrusted to her care. As we gather to bid farewell during the forthcoming services held at locations dear to her heart – Golden Gate Funeral Home- Dallas for Viewing on February 28 followed by the Funeral Service at Full Gospel Holy Temple on February 29 before concluding with interment at LAUREL LAND on March 4 – let us carry forward her light within us.

May the love and memories woven into our lives by Evangelist Ava Carter illuminate our paths ahead as we navigate a world touched by her grace and compassion. In our hearts forever live the essence of Ava Kay Carter – a beacon of hope and faith amidst life's trials.
