BENEVA MAY DAVIS

November 11, 1948 — February 9, 2025

Beneva May Davis, a cherished soul whose laughter could light up even the darkest of days, departed this world on February 9, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. Born on November 11, 1948, in the quaint town of Hallsville, Texas, she graced the lives of many with her boundless love and infectious spirit.

Beneva was known for her generous heart and her innate ability to make people laugh. Conversations with her were like a warm embrace; she loved to talk, and her stories often brought joy and connection to all who were fortunate enough to listen. A devoted family woman, Beneva held her loved ones close, showcasing an unwavering affection particularly for her loving husband, two children, and six grandchildren, with whom she shared countless cherished moments. Her nine great-grandchildren were also a source of immense pride and joy, as she relished every opportunity to be present in their lives.

Among her many passions, Beneva found excitement in playing spades on her phone, where her strategic mind shone brilliantly, and she delighted in watching her favorite team, the South Carolina Gamecocks, alongside all manner of sports. It was not just the games that sparked her interest but the unity and camaraderie they fostered among family and friends.

Her beloved dog, Stella, held a special place in her heart. Their bond was a testament to her nurturing nature, as she imparted her love not only to humanity but to all creatures great and small. Beneva’s home radiated warmth and kindness, where family gatherings were rich with laughter and love, and where memories of her spirit will forever linger.

Beneva's journey will be honored on February 21, 2025, with a viewing at the Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas, from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at Pemberton Hill Church of Christ on February 22, 2025, beginning at 1:00 PM.

She leaves behind a loving husband, Melvin Davis, Sr. daughter, Angela Davis; her son, Melvin Davis, Jr.; her two beloved sisters, Geneva Smith and Zelma Hopkins; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives who carry fond memories of her spirit.

As we bid farewell to Beneva, let us remember her kindness, her laughter, and the way she effortlessly filled our lives with joy. She may have departed from this earthly realm, but her legacy of love will continue to ripple through the hearts of all who knew her.
