Betty Cross, lovingly known as B.J., left us on January 1, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and compassion. Born on February 23, 1952, in  Charleston, Mississippi, touched the lives of those around her with unwavering love and lessness. As we our final good by to this remarkable homemaker we remember her as sweet and loving mother brought joy and happiness the lives of her family Betty's journey in the heart of, where she received her at a public school her hometown. Though pursued various paths in life it was motherhood truly defined her. Her caring nature and unyielding dedication to her family made her a pillar of strength. Betty knew no bounds when it came to giving everything she had to ensure the happiness and well-being of her loved ones.

Betty's personality embodied honesty and tenderness. She was known for being straightforward and genuine in all aspects of life. Her love transcended boundaries, touching the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her. Her sense of humor brought laughter to every room she entered, brightening the darkest of days with her infectious smile.

One of Betty's favorite pastimes was indulging in the television shows that captured her heart. From "Beverly Hills Billies" to "Walker Texas Ranger," "In The Heat Of The Night" to "Andy Griffith," these shows held a special place in Betty's heart, filling her life with moments of joy and entertainment.


She was preceded inn death by husband David Joe Cross.


As a proud mother, Betty found tremendous fulfillment in witnessing her children grow up into remarkable individuals. Her proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly the beautiful family she raised. She leaves behind a  daughters Sherry Cross, Katrina Shelby, Scherrica Cross, sons Ellis Cross along with an extensive list of grandchildren: Jeremy Cross, Shundra Cross, Reginald Cage, Vincent Cross, Travon Davis, Zantaveous Davis, Roderick Drone Jr., Kydesia Haynes, Kenyetta Cross, De'Shawn Cross, Deon'Tae Cross, Devin Bloodsworth, Makenzi Groenendyk, Kejana Cross, Tayden Danner, Chaviyon Davis, Shunacie Rollins, John L. Harper Jr., Ja'Meko Cross and Zariah Olsen. 35 great grandchilden and a host of nieces, nephews, couisins and friends

In addition to her immediate family, Betty is also survived by her sisters Mary Love Johnson and Odie Buckley. Her sister Cora Fullilove was a constant source of love and support throughout her life. Andrew Toliver was Betty's loving companion until the end.

Betty's impactful presence will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves us with cherished memories of tender love and care that will remain etched in our hearts forever. Let us remember Betty Cross not with sorrow but with celebration for a life well-lived – a life filled with love and devotion. May her soul find eternal peace as we honor her memory and carry on her legacy of compassion and selflessness.
