Beulah Mae Heard

January 26, 1944 — December 19, 2023

Beulah Mae Heard, beloved mother has passed away at the age of 79. Born on January 26, 1944, in Greenville, TX, Beulah Mae was a warm-hearted and caring individual who touched the lives of many through her hard work and determination. She will always be remembered for her strength and stubbornness in the face of adversity.

Beulah Mae received her education from Greenville High School, where she laid the foundation for a lifetime of learning. She understood the value of knowledge and carried the lessons she learned with her throughout her life. She was a devout Christian at Greater Christian Love Missionary Baptist Church under the tutelage of Reverend C. Moss.

One would often find Beulah Mae indulging in her favorite hobbies and interests. Whether it was playing Tonk, trying her luck with scratch-offs, or enjoying a game of solitaire, these activities brought her joy and relaxation. Through these pastimes, she found moments of respite from the daily toils of life.

Beulah Mae Vaughn was born to the late Clarence Vaughn and Jewel Vaughn.

Two daughters Frances Vaughn and Dianna Vaughn were preceded in death.

Beulah Mae Vaughn was married to Walter "Steamin" Heard and to this union there were four sons; Walter R. Heard (Lesia Sapp), James E. Heard, Mark W. Heard (Shalisa Heard) along with Dwayne Heard.


Family meant everything to Beulah Mae. She treasured every moment spent with her loved ones and held them close to her heart. Beulah Mae leaves behind a wide circle of family members including her children and step-children ; Michael Heard, Charlotte Champion, Debra Heard, Sharon Heard, Gwen Hudspeth, Brenda Hudspeth and Deborah Buchanan, Christopher Hill, brothers W.C. Vaughn; Larry Vaughn; Lester Vaughn; Michael Vaughn; sisters Minnie J. Vaughn; Thelma J. Vaughn; Dian Pierce; and Dorothy E. Vaughn, 17 grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and friends will all deeply miss her presence in their lives.

Throughout her life journey, Beulah Mae forged deep bonds with those around her. She was predeceased by her father Clarence Vaughn and mother Jewel Vaughn. Her brothers Charles Ray Vaughn, Robert Lee Vaughn, James Vaughn, Jimmy Vaughn; sister Doris Brown.


Beulah Mae Heard will forever be cherished in the memories of her family and friends. Her warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering spirit will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her. While a sense of loss fills our hearts, we are comforted by the thought that Beulah Mae's legacy lives on through her loved ones.

In honoring Beulah Mae's memory, let us remember the determination and joy she brought into this world. May we carry her light with us as a reminder to cherish our loved ones, embrace life's challenges with strength and perseverance, and find solace in the simple pleasures that bring us happiness.
