On January 9, 2022, Bobbie Ruth Clay Mitchell got her wings and went to walk with the angels. She was 86 years old and passed away at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. She resided at Epic Center in Corsicana, Texas.
Bobbie Ruth Clay was born in Mexia, Texas to the parents of Katherine and Sherman Clay. She was fondly known as Bob.
Bob attended Dunbar High School, Mexia, Texas. After relocating to Dallas, Texas she graduated from Booker T. Washington High School.
Bob at an early age she united with Cameron Chapel COGIC in Mexia, Texas. She united with Greater Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church.
Bob was a giver, helper, patrol, sharing within her neighborhood i.e. providing after school snacks to children, feeding neighbors and keeping an eye on her garden as well assisting the less fortune.
Bob enjoyed showing her talents of ceramic painting, quilting that was sold throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. In addition, she was a seamstress, cook (noted for her famous burgers and homecooked meals) In addition, she was a true gardener, growing vegetables and maintaining a quality harvest from the city to the country. She was a Jill of all trades mastering all including singing and playing the piano.
Bob was adventures, she enjoyed a day and night on the creek with her extended family Stella Mae and children especially Sally in adulthood.
Bob gave up country living to return to the city to spend quality time with her daughter, grandson and family. She formed a bond with neighbor Lynn and Steve Cater where she and Lynn Carter enjoyed thrift store shopping. Country living welcomed her back!
Bob enjoyed cooking for family gatherings, good music and a game of dominoes. She lived life to the fullest until her health declined and even then there was still laughter.
Bob enjoyed the company of her fur baby, Princess!
Bob enjoyed working side by side with her sister Maude as a stenographer at St. John Baptist Church.
Bob married Herman Edward Robinson and they welcomed their pride and joy, Marsha Lynn! Later in life she met and married, Otis Mitchell.
Bob was preceded in death by both parents and stepmother, Doris Clay; sister, Maude Bell, two special aunts and two nieces.
Bob is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Marsha Lynn; grandson Landon Rashad; sister Ruby Nell Clay Ratliff (Edward), nephew Reginald Eugene Hickman (Diane); special cousin Bernadean Dixon; and host of family and friends.
