Brandi Shavon Mack

June 29, 1979 — January 22, 2024

Brandi Shavon Mack, born on June 29, 1979, left this world on January 22, 2024. She was a vibrant soul who brought joy and laughter to those around her. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Brandi had a zest for life that was matched only by her magnetic personality. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Brandi's journey began at Ottawa Hills High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she completed her high school education. She then pursued a Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A) degree from Malcolm X College in Chicago, Illinois. This educational background allowed Brandi to touch the lives of others through her work in healthcare, where her compassionate and caring nature shone through.

Describing Brandi's personality is like trying to capture lightning in a bottle; it simply cannot be contained. Joyful and funny, she had an infectious laughter that filled every room she entered. Her playful spirit earned her the nickname "Spunky" amongst her closest friends and family. Brandi was never afraid to speak her mind and share her thoughts with others, making her presence known wherever she went. Her outgoing nature made it easy for people to connect with her on a deep level.

Outside of work and social interactions, Brandi found solace within the pages of books. She had an insatiable curiosity and an appetite for knowledge that led her into fascinating literary worlds. Reading served as both an escape and a way to expand her understanding of life itself. It was through literature that Brandi found inspiration and discovered new perspectives.

Family held a special place in Brandi's heart, nurturing deep bonds that would endure beyond the boundaries of life itself. She was preceded in death by her father Clarence Donald Mack. She is survived by mother Valerie Mandley, who supported and loved her unconditionally throughout her journey. Brandi's memory will also be cherished by her beloved son Bryce Donald Mack, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. In addition, she is survived by her sister Kenya Oni McGhee, brother Brandon Mack (Kay'la), sister Brianna Mack, nephew Kenyatta McGhee-Jackson, nieces Zoë Griffin and Brielle Poelinitz, aunts: Louise, Shirley, Ameldia, Phyllis, Cynthia, Viet; uncles: Jonathan (Belinda), Timothy, Joseph, Melvin; Roger (Cecelia), Lawrence, Carl, David, Michael, Jerome, and Joshua, and a host of cousins and friends.

Brandi's departure from this world leaves a profound sadness among family and friends. However, as we mourn her loss, let us also celebrate the vibrant spirit she embodied. Brandi's legacy lives on in the memories shared and the laughter that echoes in our minds. She taught us the importance of laughter, love, and letting our true selves shine without fear or hesitation.

As we say goodbye to Brandi Shavon Mack, let us remember her as the joyful and funny soul she will always be in our hearts. May her spirit find eternal peace and may those whose lives she touched find solace in the cherished moments they shared with her. Brandi's light may no longer grace this world, but it will forever burn brightly within us all.
