Brenda G. Cook was born December 12, 1948 in Borger, TX to Beatrice and Julius Bob Grey and made her transition July 31, 2016. Brenda or Brenda Gale as her family and friends knew her was the eldest of a host of siblings. Brenda grew up in Borger, TX and received her early education there. She worked in the health field, but spent most of her life as a homemaker and devoted mother which she enjoyed immensely. Brenda was always spiritually grounded and accepted Christ at an early age.
Brenda was united in holy matrimony to Eugene Cook, Sr., who preceded her in death. In this union there were six children Sabrina, Eugene, Dwight, Anthony, Anastasia and Yolanda. Unconditional love flowed through the household. Brenda was the orchestrator of this love. For the best and most beautiful things in life can’t always be seen but felt in the heart.
Through the years Brenda resided in Amarillo and Oklahoma City but made her permanent home in Garland, TX. She spent her latter years surrounded by friends and family, hosting Sundays dinners and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. One of her passions was preparing home cooked meals for friends and family. She was generous and giving friend, protective mother and always willing to help even a stranger.
Brenda is survived by her daughter Sabrena Anderson (Richard) of Amarillo, TX; son Eugene Cook, Jr. (Bernice) of New Mexico; son Dwight Cook(Denise) of Arizona; son Anthony Young(Felicia) of Garland, TX; daughter Anastasia Cook of Garland, TX; daughter Yolanda Cook of Garland, TX; brother Kenneth Young (Jackie) of Amarillo,TX; sister Cathy Westmoreland (David) of Amarillo, 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and a host of extended brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends.
