CAREY HAGGERTY

Carey Haggerty, a devoted family man and esteemed community member, passed away on March 12, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 90. Born on November 8, 1934, in Marshall, Texas, Carey dedicated his life to hard work and service, leaving a lasting impact on those around him.

For over 35 years, Carey served as a Maintenance Supervisor at Jones Blair Paint Company, where he was respected for his dedication and expertise. After retiring, he embraced entrepreneurship by starting his own business, focusing on securing and enhancing neighborhoods with wrought iron fencing and carports. His strong work ethic and commitment to quality earned him the admiration of many in the community.

Carey's early education began in Marshall, Texas, and concluded in Dallas, Texas, shaping the foundation for a life that would be characterized by perseverance and reliability. He proudly served in the Army, contributing to his sense of duty and honor, traits that defined his character throughout life.

Known affectionately as "Scorpio" to friends and family, Carey was a man about town, well-known and loved by many. He had a no-nonsense attitude that resonated deeply with those who interacted with him. In his leisure time, he enjoyed playing card games, engaging in spirited rounds of dominoes, and hitting the golf course, where he loved to share laughter and camaraderie.

Above all, Carey's proudest accomplishments were his family, particularly his children and grandchildren. He cherished each moment spent with them and took immense pride in their achievements and happiness. His legacy will live on through the love and memories he built with them.

A wake service will be held on Mon - March 17, 2025 at 7:15 pm at Golden Gate Funeral Home . A funeral service will be held on Tues, March 18, 2025 at 2:30pm at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. 

His presence will be sorely missed, but his memory and influence will remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him.
