Cedric Antonio Hampton was born on September 25, 1967 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He departed this life on January 29, 2022 in Cedar Hill, Texas. Cedric accepted Christ at an early age and attended church in the three cities where he lived most of his life.
Following the death of his mother when he was 18, Cedric moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to live with his oldest sister where he graduated from Tulsa’s Memorial High School in 1986. He then attended DeVry Institute of Technology and studied under his brother Andre who was an adjunct professor at the school. He later was trained to work on HVAC systems and his career
was spent working in maintenance at various apartment complexes in Little Rock and the Dallas metroplex.
On September 9, 1995, Cedric married Benita Muldrew. During their union, he became stepfather to Richard Walker and Darren Muldrew as well as a niece, Latoya Jones. Cedric was also a beloved brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend. He had a bellowing laugh, an infectious smile and could readily put a smile on your face too with his jokes and friendly kidding. It was no secret that he was a huge Arkansas Razorbacks fan! He watched all of the games that were televised locally, and he would proudly wear his Razorback gear in the Lone Star State. He and his brother Andre were also big Pittsburgh Steelers fans. They would often stay on the phone throughout an entire game–immediately making comments on the various plays as they happened.
Cedric was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Jean James Hampton; his father, Sammie “Tom” Williams; stepfather, Andrew James Hampton; and, brother, Andre James Hampton.
Those mourning his passing but cherishing many fond memories include his siblings, Cherlyn Cleveland, Phyllis Drone (Eugene), Sharon Williams, and Karen Williams Johnson of Little Rock, Arkansas and brother Gregory Hampton of Cedar Hill, Texas; family matriarch and aunt, Jimmie Ann McIntosh of Denver, Colorado; stepchildren, Richard Walker of North Little Rock, Arkansas; Darren Muldrew and Latoya Jones of Dallas, Texas as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends.
