CHARLES HARMON

August 21, 1934 — February 27, 2022

Charles Dean Harmon was born on August 21,1934 in Mooringsport, LA to the parentage of the late Josephine Masters Harmon and late Joe Harmon.

Charles came to Christ at an early age at the New Zion Baptist Church and became the Sunday School Superintendent.

Charles lived with his mom, brother Curtis and (step-father) Luther Jackson until  he graduated from Booker T. Washington in Shreveport, LA. He accepted a band scholarship to attend Grambling University in 1954.

Charles sought employment opportunities in Dallas and worked for A&A Liquor Store, Dallas Transit Bus, East Texas Motor Freight, America Best Freight Albuquerque, NM. (retired), a teamster member, DISD (bus driver-retired). He had a passionate for fine clothes, Sporty Cars, fine dining, SPORTS and an Entrepreneur spirit as a personal bank loan officer with low interest rates.

He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 38 years, Linda Griffin Harmon; Christopher Griffin (step-son); Joe Harmon (father); Josephine Harmon Jackson (mother); Luther Jackson (step-father); Rodney Jones (son-in-law); Santee (grandson); Commaceta (daughter); two brothers, Woodrow and Jimmy of Shreveport, LA.

Charles leaves to cherish his memories: brothers: Curtis (Barbara) Harmon of Dallas, TX, Jack & Jimmy, of Shreveport, LA; daughters: LaRonda D. Jones of Dallas, TX, Linda Ann (Bobby) Williams of Karnack, TX, Dianna R. (Patrick) Jackson, of DeSoto, TX, Gustavia Marie Webster of Houston, TX, Beverly Renee Jackson of Dallas, TX, Gladys of New York; sons: Kevin C. Harmon, of Fort Meade, Maryland, Jon Paul Harmon of Karnack, TX, Samuel Curtis Gaddis of DeSoto, TX, Eddie of Dallas, TX; nine grandkids; thirty-one great grandkids; one great great grandson; and nieces & nephews and a host of family and friends.
