Mr. C.L. Kidd was born to Mr. Booker T. Kidd and Mrs. Bertha Lee Dread on September 5, 1941, in Athens, Louisiana. He attended Mt. Pleasant Elementary School in Homer, Louisiana, and Booker T. Washington High School in Dallas, Texas.
Brother Kidd professed his faith in Jesus Christ at an early age and united with The Emmanuel Chapel Church of God in Christ in West Dallas.
Mr. Kidd had two wives that preceded him in death, Mrs. Carolyn Luan Johnson-Kidd and Mrs. Alice Wilhilt-Kidd, as well as two sons, Christopher Lydell Kidd and Cyrus Leonard Kidd.
C.L. worked for the R.M. Hankins Company for over 25 years. He later worked for 25 years at Squared Electronics where he retired in 2003.
C.L. Kidd and Mattie Henderson were joined together on December 30, 1997. Therefore, whom God has joined together, let no one separate. Mark 10:9
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Mattie Henderson Kidd; three daughters, Cecilia Clark (Mike) of Dallas, Texas, Tamara Ragsdale (Kent) of Tipton, Georgia, and Chasity Washington of Hillsboro, Texas; one son, Cedric Lionel Kidd (Patricia) of Mesquite, Texas; one stepson, Kevin Henderson (Shalaunda) of Arlington, Texas; two sisters, Vallie Adams (Clyde) of Houston, Texas, and Barbara Sodeinde of Dallas, Texas; three brothers, Booker C. Kidd (Pauline) of Dallas, Texas, Kenny Ray Kidd and Kevin Kidd of Homer, Louisiana; eight sisters-in-law, Stella Samson, Dorothy Hubbard, Thelma Reed (Cloyer), Thelma Cook, Ora Foster (Ervin), Earnestine Colton (Michael), all of Dallas, Texas, Lula Jean Johnson of Corsicana, Texas, and Wanda Washington of Hillsboro, Texas; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
