Colette Gladney Lee was born on September 17, 1941 in Henderson, TX. She was adopted as a young child by Henry and Lottie (Mama Ki) Hollins. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Dallas, TX. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Prairie View A&M University. She served as a member of the NAACP Dallas Chapter for many years.
Colette loved the Lord and she accepted Christ at an early age, later in her life after moving to Dallas she united with Pleasant Zion M. B. C. under the leadership of Pastor A. C. Toney until her passing.
She met and married Eddie Lee Jr. in 1963 and to this union two children were born, Diedra M. Jones and Charles A. Lee I of Dallas, TX.
On Thursday, July 5, 2018, Colette received her wings and went home to rest.
Her memories will always be cherished by her loving children, Diedra Jones (Melvin), Charles (Cher’) Lee; six grandchildren, Schanique, Adrienne, Nicolette, Christopher, Robynn and Charles Lee II; three great grandchildren, Erquawn Bell, De’Vyrion Payne and Zai-re Singleton all of Dallas, TX; eleven siblings; and a host of family and friends.
