CURTIS EARL HEADS

Curtis Earl Heads, also known as “Red”, transitioned from life to glory at the age of 69 on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the Duncanville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born on June 20, 1955, in Bryan, Texas to the parentage of John Lee Heads and Virginia Lorraine Dunn Heads. As a toddler the family moved to Dallas, Texas to begin their new life journey. It was there where he also became the big brother to Debra Ann and John Edward Heads.

It was at a young age that Curtis attended the Mt Tabor Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Floyd D. Harris where he professed his love & acceptance for our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. Curtis at the age of 4 years old began his formal education at the St. Anthony Elementary School and later transferred to the Wilmer Hutchins School District to further his education. Although, Curtis experienced various career fields within his lifetime, his passion was behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler truck as a truck driver.

On March 28, 1970, Curtis became the father to his first-born child Jason Hooper. Later he married Debora Wright and to that union 2 children were born ShaKinya Quantel Heads & Curtis Earl Heads, Jr.

Curtis was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Lorraine Dunn Heads, his father, John Lee Heads and a great nephew Nathan Brown. He leaves to cherish 3 children, Jason Hooper, Sha Kinya Heads Hill (Earnest) and Curtis Heads, Jr.; 7 grandchildren, 7 great – grandchildren; sister, Debra Jones (Levi), brother, John Edward Heads; 1 nephew, Johnathon; 3 nieces, Sharonda, LaToya, and Kimberly; 1 paternal uncle Lonnie Heads; 1 maternal aunt Athaline Hordge; 5 great nieces; 6 great nephews; 2 great-great nephews, plus a host of cousins and friends.
