Darvin Greer, Sr. was born January 15, 1950 to the parentage of Howard Davis and Lue Jessie Greer. Darvin passed quietly at home on Saturday May 7, 2022.
Born and raised in Dallas, TX an only child, Darvin was never alone. The countless cousins he got into “good” trouble with kept him busy and happy growing up. Anywhere Darvin went, Ruby or Charles were not far behind. As a single mother, his mother made sure Darvin never went without. Her along with her siblings and mother all pitched in to keep Darvin in line.
Darvin attended parochial school, and in 1968 graduated from Franklin D Roosevelt High School.
January 1969 Darvin wed Jeanne Marie Pickles, and to this union were born 5 children. Kimberly Camille, Darvin Jr., Jon Patrick, Damion, and Jeanna Marie.
During high school , Darvin was introduced to the truth. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses at his first assembly in January 1971. He remained faithful until his death , attending weekly meetings with his family. Now more than ever, he was sure of God’s promises as told at Acts 24:15.
Darvin married Janie Mitchell in Dallas, Tx on August 12, 1988. They were constant companions until her death on April 6, 2016. Darvin missed her dearly.
Though quiet and reserved, Darvin had many friends and acquaintances throughout his 30+years in furniture sales. Many friends and family would come see him at Home Furniture, Smith Furniture, Wickes, Rooms to Go, or several other stores he worked at thru the years.
After retiring, Darvin spent time with his grandchildren swimming, watching sports, fishing and loving life. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
