Dave Thomas Camp, Jr., age 65, went home to be the Lord on May 9, 2016 in Dallas, Texas.

Dave is survived by his children, Marques Thomas Camp, Jennifer Elise Camp, Deion Lavert Camp, and Antwaun Devonn Hayes. He is preceded in death by his wife of 16 years, Debra Joyce Chambers Hayes-Camp; father, Dave Thomas Camp, Sr.; and sister, Deborah Camp.

On June 25, 1950 in Cedartown, Georgia, Dave Thomas Camp, Sr. and Annie Thelma Richard Camp (Brown) welcomed into this world a beautiful baby boy, Dave Thomas Camp, Jr whom they loved very much. He attended school in Cedartown, Georgia until 1960 when the family moved to Dallas, Texas. While in Cedartown, he attended church at Friendship Baptist Church, where he was also baptized, as well as Judah Baptist Church. After moving, Dave would attend junior high and high school in Dallas and later graduate from Roosevelt High School in 1968. In school he excelled in sports, specifically football and track. While competing in track, he won city as well as state championships. After high school, he would go on to attend college at Navarro Junior College and Dallas Baptist University.

His unwavering love for his family could only be matched by his love of grilling and the love that was shared between him and his parents as well as his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered as a father, a husband, a son, a brother, an uncle but most importantly a best friend.

Dave leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Marques Thomas Camp, Jennifer Elise Camp, Deion Lavert Camp, and Antwaun Devonn Hayes; mother, Annie Thelma Richard Camp Brown; and siblings: Dwight Kerry Camp (Mary), Barry Camp, and Susan Elaine Camp Harris; as well as grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
