DEBORAH CLARK

November 30, 1955 — March 20, 2022

Deborah Clark was born on November 30, 1955 to Mintha Elizabeth Jarmon Clark and Luther Harold Clark Sr. in St. Louis, Mo.  She took pride in saying that she was born in her grandmother’s bed by her Aunt Mildred and Aunt Sang.  She was affectionately known as Debbie or Big Deb.

She acknowledged her faith and was Christened at an early age.

She began her educational journey at St. Nicholas Catholic School in St. Louis, Mo.  She furthered her education by attending Bishop Du bourg High School in St. Louis, Mo.  After high school, she went on to attend St. Louis Community College at Forest Park in St. Louis, Mo.  and El Centro College for Nursing in Dallas, Texas.

Deborah lived a full life that she created.  In the twist and twirls of experiences, she managed to touch every single person that she came in contact with.  She was notoriously known for her 2 am phone calls just to ask, “yeah, how are you”, sending Cashapp requests, making handmade crocheted blankets, and in her later years, sitting on her porch talking to any and every one that passed by.  Her biggest passion was trying to help anyone in need – even if you didn’t need anything.  She managed to make sure that you were well stocked with extra of any items that she found and made sure to let you know of places for you or anyone else to get assistance.  This was her missed calling.  We will all miss her calls, deliveries from pantries, texts and pictures.  Always remember that Debbie cared and loved you.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Stephen H. Jarmon and Minnie Lee Price Jarmon (maternal); Jennie Perkins (Angel) and Richard Clark (paternal); parents, Mintha Elizabeth (Liz) Jarmon Clark and Luther Harold Clark Sr.; brothers, Luther Harold Clark II and Luther Harold Clark Jr.; sister, Jacqueline Mae Jones; maternal aunts, Mildred Jarmon, Ruth Echols, Rosalee Jarmon and Wilamay Jarmon; maternal uncle, Theodore Jarmon; paternal uncles, Kermit Clark, Alfred Clark, William (Bill) Clark, Wayman Clark, and Fred Clark.

She leaves to cherish her many memories:  daughter, Terra Clark (William Nelson Jr.) of Irving, TX; devoted son, Steven Cooper of Irving, TX; granddaughter, Shambreca Webb of Irving, TX; grandson, TreVeon Nelson of Irving, TX; god-grandkids, Jaide Rae Lynn Mills, Juelz Mills and Jamison Mills of Desoto, TX; granddaughters-in-law, Shonda McNeal of Tampa, FL (daughter Karli) and Clarissa Nelson of Irving, TX; grandson-in-law, William Nelson (Billy) III of Atlantic City, NJ (son Jayden);  sister, Troy Jones of St. Louis, MO; special sister, Pam Currie  of St. Louis, MO; brother, Steven Jones of St. Louis, MO; special brother, Kenneth Page of St. Louis, MO; special son, Ansis “AJ” Jernigan (Brad) of Dallas, TX; best friends, Debbie Curry of St. Louis, MO; close friends, Terrell Wilson, Merilyn (Mary) Easter, Wilma Riley-Jacobs and Paulette (Joe) Hamilton of Dallas, TX; aunt, Helen Reed of Los Angeles, CA; uncle, Raymond Echols (Ruth); beloved cousins, Henrietta Newsome, Debora Harris, Brenda Peart, Shirley Jewell, Curtis Clark, Barry Mitchell, Pamela Johnson, Patricia Jones; a host of cousins, neighbors and friends.
