Derick Wallace, age 55, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15th, 2020. He was born on February 26th, 1964 in Dallas, Texas to the parents of David Wallace and Joyce Wallace.
Derick attended school in Oak Cliff and graduated from South Oak Cliff high School. He put his heart and soul into his work as a carpenter, faithfully, for over 38 years.
Derick professed his faith unto God at an early age and served the churches he attended with his skillset and labor of his hands to keep the buildings in good conditions.
He was one of the most dedicated individuals you would meet. He took pride in the being able to serve others, whether by fixing something in their home or bringing them laughter. If there was any home repair needed, he could fix it. He could fill a whole room with laughter, that you could hear from a mile away, and he could lighten any mood.
Derick went to be with the Lord on January 15th. He is preceded in death by his father David Ray Wallace and great-grandparents, Dave and Leneva Wallace. Derick leaves to celebrate his homegoing: his wife Carol Wallace, mother, Joyce Wallace, 2 daughters, Michelle (Jabari) Burgess and Shay (Michael) DeLeon, his 2 brothers Kenneth (Cheryl) Wallace and Chris (Terria) Wallace, and great uncle, Tony Wallace, along with four grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of cousins, other family and friends.
Derick was loved dearly and will be truly missed by his family and friends.
