Ms. Donna Delecia Ransom was born June 28, 1964, in Longview, Texas. She was one of three children born to Dorothy Helene Galloway and one of two children lovingly raised by Roscoe Collins and Ruthie Mae Collins. Donna graduated from Wilmer Hutchins High School in 1982, later earning a cosmetology license and an associate degree from Cedar Valley Community College. She owned a salon in Oak Cliff, Texas, and worked as a tax specialist for many years.
Donna was a devoted mother to one daughter, Delecia Ransom, whom she laid roots and raised her in Dallas, Texas. She served in ministry at Cliff View Church of Christ, where she was a dedicated member. She enjoyed teaching Bible studies, reading, cooking, and crocheting. If anything was broken, she could probably fix it. In whatever capacity you knew her, it was evident that she loved God and people.
She always greeted ones she knew and strangers with a “How You Doing?”. You knew and could feel she posed the question with genuine concern and care. Because she was. Caring, loving, inviting, warm, and genuine. And never met a stranger. Her warm smile and engaging presence will be remembered and greatly missed.
Donna departed her earthly life on February 16, 2025. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Helene Galloway, her two parents, Roscoe and Ruthie Mae Collins. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will be cherished by all who knew her.
She is survived by one beloved daughter, Delecia Ransom; three brothers, William Collins, Brady Hayes (Odie), and Hayward Hallman; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
