Donovan Lamar Jones was born March 5, 1974, in Wichita Falls, TX to Donald W. Jones and Syretha K. Benton-Jones. His dad was in the US Air Force, so Donovan would also live in San Antonio, TX, before the family settled in Dallas, TX.  He joined the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church at age 6, where his membership remained for 42 years.

Donovan received his education in the Dallas ISD, attending John H. Reagan Elementary, W. E. Greiner Middle School, and graduating from Franklin D. Donovan was a huge fan of sports, having a special love for his Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Mavericks. He could always be found watching a sports event, including boxing and hockey. Additionally, he was an enormous competitor and gamesman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and could be found at any domino or card table chatting with other players about how bad they were going to be beat. He did this while bowling as well. He was always ready to help others with handiwork – building and repair as well as moving and other requests as needed.

Donovan was employed with Regal Temp Agency where his expertise in logistics was often sought after and utilized serving companies in the warehouse industry. His skillset as a forklift driver was frequently requested to help companies alleviate turnkey. Donovan was married to Sandra Duncan and to this union no children were born.

He was blessed with 3 children who he loved dearly: Marissa Biggs of Junction City, Kansas; Sa’Mayah Walker, and Christopher Jones of Dallas, TX. He has one grandson, Kyro Leake, of Dallas, TX.

Donovan LOOOOVED his family dearly and after spending a wonderful day with his mom and later with friends celebrating his birthday, he was called home to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 6, 2022. He leaves to celebrate his life, his children and his grandchild; his father, Donald Jones (Teresa) of Ennis, TX; his mother, Syretha Benton-Jones; sister, Victoria S. Jones; and Victoria’s mother, Simonetta Webb-Jones of Dallas, Texas. Other family members include an aunt, Gwendolyn Ross of Lancaster, TX; and uncles, Roderick Jones (Kathy) of Dallas, TX and Anthony Jones of Houston, TX.
