Doris Ann closed her eyes and soared to the heavens on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. She was 53. Ann was born on December 7, 1964, in El Paso, TX, to Louis E. Handy, Sr., and Doris G. Evans. She attended Dallas Public Schools and lived a life of joy in and around the DFW metroplex all of her days on God’s Green Earth. Ann was a nurturer all her life. She was an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant for over 15 years, and was also employed as a Certified Security Officer for Platinum Security, and over the years, held other various jobs all her life! Ann rededicated her life to Christ and was a faithful member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church of Dallas, TX. She displayed a wonderful knack for solving problems, and truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with family and friends. She was a true contender who loved playing sports in her early years, dancing and spending time with her children, as well as grandchildren, and bonding with her sisters and brothers, and let’s not forget to mention all the great times she shared with her nieces and nephews. Ann was celebrated for her curious and loving spirit, her warmth, sensitivity, and definitely, her sense of humor. Doris Ann possessed an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way! Ann was preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony and Eric J. Handy. She is survived by: both parents, Louis E. Handy, Sr., and Doris Gene Evans; her husband, Mr. Daniel Anya; her children: one son, Mel Handy of Mesquite, TX, and three daughters, Fenterria Handy of Dallas, TX, Iesha Handy of Rockwall, TX, and Kadesa Brown of Dallas, TX; six brothers, Ritchie Fulcher of Mesquite, TX, Horace (Leroy) Handy (Debra) of Mesquite, TX, Louis E. Handy, Jr., (Alice-Bae-Bae) of Dallas, TX, Lovis K. Handy (JoAnn) of Dallas, TX, Brian J. Handy (Cynthia) of Dallas, TX, and Ashton Helm of Dallas, TX; five sisters, Cherry L. Handy (Malcolm) of Mesquite, TX, Katherine Handy of Dallas, TX, Christina Beltran of Dallas, TX, Tamara Hawthorne of Dallas, TX, and Barbara Nell Clarke of Dallas, TX; another special person in her life, Mr. Michael Brown of Dallas, TX; and a host of grandchildren, uncles, and aunts, and many, many, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends whose lives Ann touched!
