Dorothy Nell Brown was born on March 30, 1925. She was born in Ashdown, Arkansas to the late Willie Harris and Reberita Harris. She was the fourth of eight children: Purvis, Purr, Porter, Wanda Lean, Margaret, Bertha and Dorothy. She attended school in Ashdown, AR and Lewisville, TX. She was a homemaker. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and pastor’s wife. She worked in the church as a Sunday School teacher and taught mission classes and song in the choir.
She was preceded in death by husband, Van Brown, son, Clyde Brown and daughter, Shirley Taylor.
Dorothy is survived by her son, James Lewis Brown (Renetta). Dorothy was the proud grandmother of a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
“There’s a storm out on the ocean and its moving this away. If your soul is not anchored in Jesus you will surely drift away, you’ll drift away. This is a passage we found in Mama’s personal items. She had written it in some of her many notes. Let’s keep this message with us on her behalf. She always said every single day, the Lord had been good to her. Mama Dorothy lived a very full life and we loved her dearly.
