The sun rose for Dorothy Page on June 18, 1933, and set on August 3, 2022. Dorothy, better known as “Bit” was the 11th child born to Charlie Page and Elizabeth "Lizzie" White Page in Waskom, Texas; Harris County, along with a twin sister known as Tiny. Bit is preceded in death by Isaiah Busby (Husband) and Leon Dewayne Busby (Son). Bit accepted Christ at an early age and attended Melissa Pierce High School in Joppy after moving to Dallas, Texas. She was a member of Blair's Temple C.O.G.I.C and later became a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church and then Christ Memorial Missionary Baptist Church. She was a faithful and loyal member of the Usher Board until her illness. She loved serving the Lord and sang praises during her daily routines. Her favorite verse was ST. John 14:1-4 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.” Bit united in holy matrimony to Isaiah Busby on December 29, 1951. To this union 5 children were born. They raised their children with an abundance of love and family togetherness. Bit had an unconditional love for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other children to whom she became a mother. She just loved children. She had more patients with children than the "Old Lady in the Shoe." However, she did not spare the rod to spoil the child. Bit was kind to everyone she met because she had a sweet and gentle nature. She LOVED family gatherings and always looked forward to the family reunions and visiting her special niece, Florine Cullors, in Compton, CA., where she and her sisters Tiny and Arlene would go for new adventures. Bit enjoyed bargain shopping with her inseparable and identical twin Tiny, they often dressed alike. Bit loved to eat Lone Star Donuts, bread, potatoes, green beans, and drinking Diet Coke. Bit leaves to cherish her memories her 2 sisters, Addie Moore and Ida Bell Stevenson. Daughters Brenda Yarbrough (Wallas), Gloria Busby, Julia Daniels (Shawn Sr.), and Patricia Busby. Grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, neighbors, church family, and acquaintances.
