DWIGHT EDWARD CARSON

June 27, 1951 — July 26, 2024

Life Reflection

Dwight Edward Carson was born to the parents of Willie Lee Carson and Amy Cotell Burton-Carson on June 27, 1951, in Dallas, TX. Post high school, Mr. Carson joined the U.S. Army and served as an Automotive Repair Parts Specialist during the Vietnam War. After military service, he studied at Cedar Valley College earning a certificate/license in HVAC repair; worked as a supervisor with Taylor Publishing Company for 10 years, and lastly as a service technician with Superclean for 26 years. Although Mr. Carson had an abundant work life, he prioritized quality time with family and friends. He was an available, loving father and husband that you could count on to answer or return your phone call. Mr. Carson occasionally attended Emmanuel New Life Fellowship church under the leadership of Pastor Earnest and Rosa Striggers and was affectionately known as the neighborhood’s handy man before ascending to his divine home on July 26, 2024.

Dwight Edward Carson is preceded in death by his grandparents Abe and Lena Burton, parents Willie and Amy Carson, aunts/uncles Carrie Mae, Elmer Lee, Kitty Nell, Abe Burton III, niece Amy Carson, and stepdaughter Aisha Jackson-Crawford.

He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife Brenda Jackson-Carson; siblings Willie Wayne, Nancy Anderson, David, and Eric; daughter Erica (Lonnie) Carson-Boyd; son Justin (Vernetta) Carson; stepchildren Kennedra (Courtney) McDonald-Green, Gerald (Vicky) Jackson, Larry (Kena) Jackson; grandchildren Johnathan Luster and Victoria Buchanan; step-grandchildren Kenneth and Alicia Crawford, Carda Jackson, plus four others; cousins Valencia Harden and Rosalyn Burton; and a host of family and friends.
