She was born on July 3, 1944, to her parents James and Hattie Shipp. Edna was a devoted wife to Bobby Geiger and a cherished mother to her children Michael Richards, Rickie Richards, and Taneka Richards. Her family was her pride and joy.

Edna led a fulfilling career, working at Lone Star Gas, Silver Leaf Travel, and AGI. She dedicated her time and energy to her work, always striving for excellence in everything she did. Edna's commitment and work ethic were admired by all who knew her.

Beyond her professional achievements, Edna possessed a deep passion for cooking, cards and dominoes. These simple pastimes brought her immense joy and provided an avenue for connection with friends and loved ones. Whether it was a friendly game with her grandchildren or gathering with close companions, Edna found delight in the simple moments spent playing these games.

Edna's humble nature touched the lives of everyone she encountered. She was known for her kindness and selflessness in helping others. Her gentle spirit made her approachable and comforting to be around. Edna had a unique ability to make people feel seen and valued—a trait that endeared her to many.

In honoring Edna's life, two special events have been scheduled. The visitation will take place on February 16, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Golden Gate Funeral Home and A Crematory located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Fwy in Dallas, TX 75224.

The funeral service will be held on February 17, 2024, at Denley Drive Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, TX 75216. The service will begin at 10:30 AM, with the viewing starting at 9:30 AM. The church holds a special place in Edna's heart, and it is fitting that her life will be celebrated in this sacred space.

She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.
