Mrs. Emma Jean Hatcher had a rich but disciplined childhood. Mrs. Emma was born July 29, 1934, in Sandy Hook, MS, to the parentage of the late Albert and Corene Mark. She was the youngest of 11 siblings, all preceded her in death. She met and married James Willie Hatcher "Tut", and to this union, a son was born, Leonard Charles, and later in life, a second child was born, Shirley Jean. Mrs. Emma moved to Dallas, where she was employed by the Army Air Force Exchange (AFFAF) until retirement.
Mrs. Emma professed her faith in Christ at an early age. She united with Zion Missionary Baptist Church and remained a faithful servant until her health failed. On any given day, you would fine her working word search puzzles, and of course, cooking. She loved to cook, and, more importantly, she loved to eat. She gave those she met a genuine smile and wanted nothing but the best for everyone that crossed her path. She delighted in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild. For those who confided in her, she gave an honest answer.
Mrs. Emma was simply an easy-going person with the motto of "do all you can while you can".
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, her husband, James Willie "Tut", and grandson, Kelvin Sparks.
Mrs. Emma is survived by: son, Leonard Charles (Rhonda); daughter, Shirley; grandchildren, Tovash (Josalyn), Jared Sparks, Jason, DeShawn
(Shelby), and Darriun (Kristina), 12 great-grandchildren; one great great- grandchild; and a host of family friends
