Tim, born: Eric Timothy Edwards, was affectionately known to family as “Timmy” and to most others as “Tim” Edwards. He was born October 30, 1960, to the parentage of Clarence “C.P.” Edwards and Minnie Ola (Howard) Edwards, in Dallas, Texas. To their union, he was the youngest of 7 children.
Eric attended Dallas ISD schools: C.F. Carr, T.A. Edison and L.G. Pinkston High School, where he was a member of the Class of 1979. Afterwards, he worked primarily in welding, construction, detailing and was last employed at St. Philip’s School, as a groundskeeper. He was recently re-baptized at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was spoiled, bossy, impatient and VERY prompt. He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan! He liked to have fun and party (but couldn’t dance), go to the casino, and attend his meetings and church. He loved his hats, to dress, to smell good, to clean his cars (didn’t want a stain or dust particle on them) and to eat. He was a jokester and had a jovial personality. He was “Old School” and BIG on respect. He was everyone’s favorite brother, uncle, cousin, etc. He loved his children and his entire family. Family was VERY important to him.
Tim was preceded in death by his grandparents: Lee & Maggie Howard and Buster & Virginia Edwards; parents: Clarence and Minnie Edwards, siblings: Fredrick “Clifton” Bowers and Lawrence Edwards; sister in laws: Betty Bowers and Lucy Lynn; wife: Karen Smith; nieces/nephews: Desiree Bowers, Fredrick C.
