Erma Farmer

Erma Louise Farmer was born January 1, 1950 to Arthur Lee and Lizzie B. Wesley in Dallas, TX. She graduated from Pinkston High School in West Dallas where she ran track and participated on the drill team. She was a member of Vineyard Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Supt. Emmitt Searuggs where she was Queen of Vineyard COGIC. Erma joined the Army National Guard in 1975 where she served her country for four years.

She met and married James Monroe Farmer of Columbus, GA on September 29, 1979. They moved to Columbus, GA where she worked at Dolly Madison and took classes at Chattahoochee Valley Community College. They later relocated back to Dallas, TX where she assisted in taking care of her mother until her passing. She worked at AARP and Home Health Care until the day of her passing.

She was a member of New Comforter Family church under the leadership of the late Rev. Charles Frank Lightner and later Pastor Kervin Lightner.

She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur Lee and Lizzie B. Wesley; husband James Monroe Farmer; three sisters Sylvia, Debra Kay, Teresa Mae; adopted sister Demetrice Wesley; brother Elmer Lee, and her daughter Sharhonda Wesley.

She leaves to cherish her memories: three daughters, Valencia McDaniel (Demetrius), Iris Farmer-Johnson (Linary), and Porche’ Farmer; a special niece/daughter Selene Carter (Darius). She leaved nine grand kids and six great grand kids, three sisters, Norma, Carolyn (Eddie), Debra Sue and a brother Arthur (Ruthie) which she loved dearly and a host of other relatives and friends.
