ERWIN BAILEY

Erwin Lewis Bailey was born on October 28, 1955 to Arthur Bailey Jr. and Bernice Oliver Bailey.

Erwin attended Priscilla L. Tyler Elementary, O. W. Holmes Junior High School, South Oak Cliff High School and El Centro College. He first started kneeling at the alter at St. Mark AME Zion Church.

He met and married at a young age to JoAnn Lewis.

Erwin was good with his hands, he was a certified and qualified upholstery craftsman. He spent several years working with leather goods. Finally, Erwin found his nitch and became his own “boss”. Bailey Tree Trimming Services became a reality. He worked hard and worked you hard if you worked for him. He had a work system that he took pride in. He worked his business faithfully until his health failed him.

On Monday, July 9, 2018 Erwin made his transition to be with the Lord. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Bernice Bailey, three brothers, Ray Oliver, Earnest Bailey and Milton Lewis, one sister, Beverly K. Bailey and one granddaughter, Chawntrevia Wilson.

Erwin leaves to cherish his memories: five daughters, Demetra Faggett, Trina Lewis (Gary), Donnava Shofner (Lajuan), De’Adra Bailey (Lewis) and Tarshia Allen; one sister, Ramona Williams (Mike); brother, Richard “Flipp” Bailey; special aunt/mom, Betty Wright; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
