Eugene “Hammer” Webb was born September 22, 1949 in Winnsboro, Louisiana to the parentage of Rosetta Loring and Sam Webb. He was affectionately called “Hammer” by all who knew and loved him. He received his formal education in the public schools of Franklin Parish. At an early age, Eugene gave his life to Christ and was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Mangham, Louisiana. He faithfully attended the Pilgrim Rest Church until adulthood. He later relocated to Dallas, Texas.
Eugene is preceded in death by his mother, Rosetta Loring; his father, Sam Webb; his sisters, Zola Foy and Pearlie Williams; his brothers, Joe Webb, Sr. and Henry Lee Webb; his great grandchildren, Jovan Webb and MacKenzie Rice.
Eugene was a quiet and gentle man who loved spending time with his family. He loved all types of music and was very content enjoying the tunes in the privacy of his own home. Although Eugene enjoyed all sports, his favorite was football and he was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Eugene was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He had a servant’s heart and never expected anything in return for his good deeds. He enjoyed working as a Maintenance Technician and worked at various companies for a total of 30+ years.
Eugene’s memories will be forever cherished in the hearts of: his daughters, Rachel Webb, Kimberly Webb, Jeanette Hill, Ashley Starks (Danny); his son, Jarvis Hill (Nicole); his grandchildren, LeAndre, LeAndra, KeAndra, Xavier, Kenriq, DeAndre (Onisha), Daylan, Jirah, Jaren, Joya, Harlem, Brooklyn and Dallas; 8 great grandchildren; his sisters, Louise Wilson, Ethel Williams, Mary McMahon, Valerie Winn and Pearline Winn; his brothers, Edward Lowery, Steven Webb,
Andy Webb, Sam Winn and Jessie Winn; his special friend, Inager Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
