Farrin Hawkins, 39, won his bout with cancer on May 25, 2018, with his family by his side at St. David’s Medical Center.
Farrin was born August 30, 1978, in Natchez, Mississippi, and graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1998. “Red” blossomed into a spectacular basketball player, but most importantly, a fearless fighter.

“Red” is survived by: his father, Farrin Hawkins; honorary father, Lonnie Brown, Jr.; mother, Barbara Thomas; two sons, Brelan-beth and Saint (Shannara); and four brothers, Tony, Marcus and Lonnie Hawkins and Eddrick Thomas. Sharing in his memory includes a host of uncles, aunties, nieces, nephews, friends, family and significant partner, Maria Brown-Spence.
