George Carver Boson Jr., born on September 5, 1945, in the heart of a rapidly changing America, departed this world on January 13, 2025. A life deeply woven into the fabric of family and community, George leaves behind a legacy rich with love, service, and unwavering faith in his Lord Jesus Christ.
George's dedication to his country was profound; he served as a medic in the U.S. Army, embodying courage and compassion in times of need. His military service was but one facet of his multifaceted life, filled with achievements that spoke to his character. He proudly earned his Bachelor's Degree in Diesel & Automotive Technology from Del Mar College, a testament to his tireless work ethic and passion for mechanics. George was employed with the Naval Air Station (NAS) of Corpus Christi, where he skillfully performed upholstery on aircraft—an oft-ignored trade that reflects the meticulous nature of his work and his commitment to excellence.
Throughout his years, George's warmth shone brightly. He had a soft-spoken demeanor yet a friendly spirit, always eager to lend a helping hand or share the Word of God with those he encountered. His brothers Aaron and Mark fondly recalls the time in 1968 when George sent Vietnam jackets adorned with a map of the country to his siblings, a gesture that highlighted his thoughtfulness and desire to connect. It is in memories such as these that the true essence of George can be felt—a brother, a friend, and a mentor who touched lives in ways both big and small.
George's passions extended beyond his professional endeavors. He found joy in working on cars, a hobby that resonated deeply with his technical mind. He was also an ardent sports fan; the Dallas Cowboys held a particular place in his heart, often providing a backdrop for treasured moments with loved ones.
As a minister, George’s proudest accomplishment was perhaps not just in his qualifications but in the profound impact he made on the souls he encountered. George was a beacon of light, guiding and nurturing those around him as he shared the teachings close to his heart.
He is survived by his loving siblings — Deloris Ross, Aaron Boson, and Mark Boson, Sr. — along with a host of other relatives and friends, all of whom cherish the profound imprint he has left on their lives.
Though he has joined those who have gone before him—his father George Carver Boson, Sr., his mother Estelle Boson, and siblings Marilyn Heyward, Allie Bolton, Timothy Boson, Sr., Samuel Boson, Jonathan Boson, and David Boson—his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift all who remember him.
George Carver Boson Jr.’s funeral service will be held on January 25, 2025, at 9:00 AM, followed by a memorial at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas, where family and friends will gather to honor a life well-lived. In giving, loving, and nurturing, George leaves behind echoes of grace and kindness, his legacy forever etched in the hearts of those he loved.
