George William Morgan was born in Pampa, Texas to Thomas and Violet Morgan. Touching lives is what he was ultimately known for; from being an exceptional husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, cousin, nephew, grandson, uncle, friend, mentor and manager. He was all these roles and more. Each one of these roles he took seriously and with great dedication. Always doing his best to fulfill his obligations. He held everyone in a positive light, seeing the best potential in all human beings. He always believed in hard work, and that we should always keep family first and foremost.

He graduated from Prairie View A&M University in 1964 and went on to marry his lovely wife Clara of 50+ years. He was a Lifetime Teacher, USDA Forest Service, United States Youth Conservation Corps (YCC), Job Corps, Human Resources Management and Civil Rights, Fire and Aviation Management – Wildland Firefighter/Smokejumper/HotShot Crew Boss Manager Coordinator. George was a retired Federal Government employee for 30+ years with immense and diverse talents. A great teacher, he mentored, counseled and inspired hundreds of young adults. An old soul with a big heart for justice and fairness, he cherished life and all the beauty within it. Being a spiritual and philosophical man, he never feared death nor transition, to him it was a natural state of life. He had a great love of the outdoors, fishing, hunting, cars, culinary, books, history, music and sports. Gifted, strong, wise and full of fire, he was known by the nickname Red. He came into the world like a firecracker and went out like a supernova. He will be deeply missed.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Clara Sue Morgan; his daughters Veronica Morgan-Williams, Cassandra Morgan, Nerissa Morgan; his grandchildren Janelle Williams and Timothy Williams; his brothers Thomas Morgan, Jr. and Columbus Morgan; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
