GILBERT POWERS

On August 18, 1947, God released Gilbert Powers, one of his greatest treasures, into the earth. He was born to Bertha Louise Carter and Clarence Powers in Waxahachie, Texas. He accepted Christ at a young age and united with Grove Temple Church of God in Christ. He attended Waxahachie schools and later moved to Dallas, Texas, and joined a Baptist church. He loved playing dominos and cards. He also loved the outdoors and fishing.

He was blessed with one daughter, Essie Johnson.

Those preceding him in death were a  granddaughter, Beatrize Johnson, aunts, Dorthy Andrew, Elmerine Carter and Alice Butler.

Gilbert Powers leaves to cherish precious memories: his aunts, Lettie Sharp, Shirley Tubea and Minnie Hightower, and a host of other loving family members and friends.
