Gloria Brown Byerly, the esteemed owner of Gloria's Coiffures and known as the best hairdresser in Dallas, has gracefully passed away at the age of 85. She was born on February 6, 1939, in Shreveport, LA, and peacefully departed from us on July 27, 2024, in Dallas, TX.
Gloria was a beacon of light in the lives of many, not only for her exceptional skills as a hairdresser but also for the love and kindness she exuded. Her legacy extends beyond her career and talents; she will be remembered most for being a loving GRANNY to those who cherished her deeply.
She pursued her passion by graduating from cosmetology school and went on to establish herself as a renowned figure in the hairdressing industry in Dallas. Gloria's dedication to her craft was unparalleled.
Apart from her professional achievements, Gloria was a devoted member of the community. She took pride in serving as the head of the Pastor's Aid Committee, exemplifying her commitment to helping others.
Gloria had a heart of gold and was described as loving, sweet, kind, compassionate, and generous by all who knew her. Her family held a special place in her heart, especially her beautiful daughters Wanda and Gwen. She is survived by her grandsons Ron (Erica), Terry, and Joel, and great-grandson Trevon, her son in law Haran, niece Yolanda (Harlan) and a host family members.
In her leisure time, Gloria found joy in simple pleasures such as coloring, baking delicious treats for loved ones, worshiping God, and of course, styling hair. These hobbies reflected her nurturing spirit and creativity.
Services to honor and remember Gloria will be held at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas for visitation followed by a prayer service on August 1st. The funeral service will take place at God's Exciting Cathedral of Praise in DeSoto on August 2nd.
Gloria Brown Byerly touched the lives of many with her warmth and generosity. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
May she rest in eternal peace knowing that she was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
