GREGORY LEN MORRIS

September 11, 1962 — January 16, 2025

Gregory Len Morris, a steadfast beacon of compassion and integrity, "OOHRAH" was born on September 11, 1962, in Bryan, Texas. He departed this world on January 16, 2025, leaving behind a legacy woven with threads of love, humor, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.

As a devoted husband to Stephanie Ann Morris and a proud father to Monisha Haskell (and her husband Jerry), Tawaine Hall, Gregory Morris Jr., Cory Morris, and Jasmine Morris, Gregory's life was a testament to the bonds of family. His four grandchildren were a source of immense joy, enriching his life and brightening the chapters of his story. Gregory's brother, Terrance Morris, who shared a lifelong journey of camaraderie and support, survives him, reminding us all of the unbreakable ties that family can forge.

Education was not merely a pursuit for Gregory; it was a cornerstone upon which he built his life. A graduate of Bryan High School, he further pursued higher learning at Southwest Texas State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. His commitment to education exemplified his belief that knowledge was a powerful catalyst for change—both personally and within the community he served as a parole officer and mental health case manager.

Gregory’s career was marked by a profound sense of duty and a genuine desire to uplift those around him. His straightforward and outspoken personality endeared him to many, and he had an innate ability to connect with people from all walks of life. "Never met a stranger” was not just a phrase but a description of how he lived—open and welcoming with a jovial spirit. Through his firm yet compassionate approach, he became a guiding light for those who sought his help, mirroring the essence of a giver who was always ready to lend a hand whenever needed.

His time served in both the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Army instilled in him a profound sense of discipline and honor. A proud member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, he valued brotherhood and the importance of community service, a reflection of his character as a man dedicated to making a difference.

In the quieter moments of life, Gregory took solace in the thrill of NFL and college football, a pastime that further brightened his spirit and connected him with friends and family in spirited discussions over games won and lost.

Gregory Len Morris aka "Wolf" will be remembered as a jovial jokester with a heart of gold. His passing leaves a tangible void among those who knew and loved him. Friends, family, and those whose lives he touched are invited to honor his life at the viewing on January 31, 2025, from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. A graveside service will follow at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2:00 PM, where he will take his place, not just among the heroes of the military and public service, but among the cherished memories of a devoted family man.

In an era where connection often eludes us, Gregory’s life stands as a reminder of the impact that love, laughter, and unwavering support can have in our lives. He embraced every moment, giving freely of himself, and we are richer for having known him.
