Gwendolyn Louise Robinson (1951-2024)
Gwendolyn Louise Robinson, 72, of Fort Worth, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on March 21, 2024.
Gwendolyn Louise “Julie” Coles was born in Lubbock, Texas in 1951 to Rastee Coles and Hazel Williams. She attended I.M. Terrell High School in Fort Worth and became a Licensed Cosmetologist and home health professional before going on to work as an educator at Diamond Hill and North Side High School and retiring after many years of service.
As a child Julie joined the Pentecostal Church of God in Christ and accepted a call to enter the mission field in the late 1970’s. She was later licensed as a Missionary of the Church of God in Christ in the Pentecostal District and Texas North Central Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. Julie served in many positions within the Church including Sunshine Band President, Youth Choir President, Assistant Director of Vacation Bible School, Church Gatekeeper, Housekeeper, Choir Member, and Pre-School teacher at the Church Day Care and Learning Center.
Beloved and cherished by so many, her laugh was contagious and full of life. She was most known for her kindness and bubbly personality. She never met a stranger.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents, brother (Elwin Coles), husband (Larry Robinson, Sr), and granddaughter (Jasmine Robinson). She leaves behind to cherish memories her children (Larry Robinson, Jr. and Shanta Maxey), grandchildren (Dylan Robinson, Jasmine Caster-Robinson, Dwayne Maxey, Isaac Maxey, and Jermiah Barajas), and numerous family and friends who loved her so much.
Visitation hours will be held March 28 from 1PM to 6PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home, 5701 E Loop 820 S, Fort Worth, Texas. Memorial Service will be held March 28 from 7PM to 8PM at Pentecostal Church of God in Christ, 2815 Chenault Street, Fort Worth, Texas. Funeral Service will be held March 29 from 10AM to 12PM at Pentecostal Church of God in Christ.
