Hayward Butler

d. May 7, 2018

Deacon Hayward Butler was born to the union of Eddie and Elzarue Butler on November 5, 1939, in Hallsville, Texas. He grew up in Hallsville and attended Hallsville public schools. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Bucksville Church. Hayward was a faithful member of Bucksville Church until he moved from Hallsville.
Hayward continued his education in law enforcement and worked in Dallas County for many years. He was the proud owner and proprietor of Day & Night Bail Bonds.

The Lord was always the head of Hayward’s life, so when he had the opportunity to add more to the Kingdom for Christ, he jumped at the chance. Thus, Hayward Butler became a Charter Member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Dallas on June 11, 2006. He faithfully dedicated his efforts to the building of this church. He faithfully attended church and was ordained as a Deacon on January 7, 2007. Deacon Butler was a dedicated Sunday School Superintendent, Chairman of the Deacon Board, a member of the Trustee Board, Finance Committee and choir.

Deacon Hayward Butler departed this life on Sunday, April 29, 2018. God whispered so sweetly to him, “Your time of departure is now at hand.” He opened his arms and said, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant,” and thus, Hayward departed this life. Deacon Butler continued on his journey, until his last days, doing what he did best: SERVING OTHERS. He loved his family, his friends and his church. Hayward never met a stranger; everyone who met him was impacted by his wise counsel.

The divine mandate for Hayward’s life has been fulfilled. His life is complete, and although Deacon Butler did not have children of his own, His Legacy will live on. His legacy has been left to his many nieces, nephews and all the other young people who benefitted from his fatherly nurturing. His smile and his servanthood will forever be seen and remembered.

He leaves his cherished memories to his brothers and sister: Jessie Butler (Mary) and Elizabeth Allen of Marshall, Texas, Willie Butler (Barbara) of Rowlett, Texas, Donnie Butler (Reva) of Talty, Texas, and James Butler of Dallas, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
