Heath Michael Emillio, 52, passed away on December 2, 2024. He will be remembered for his love of classic rock, his passion for playing the guitar, his dedication to his favorite football team, the NY Jets, and his immense love for his family.
Born in Socorro, New Mexico, on September 22, 1972, Heath spent his life enriching the lives of those around him. His humor, kindness, and passion touched the hearts of many. He was a devoted son, father, stepfather, husband, grandfather (Papa), brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Heath is survived by his father, Bill; children, Michael, Dammeon, and Brett Emillio; stepchildren, Davon and Tina VanZandt; wife, Felicia VanZandt-Emillio; sister, Heather Fordyce; grandchildren, Ja’Ryiah LaDay, Jaxson Jamaica, Paisley Smith, Amari VanZandt, and Daleah VanZandt. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Parthina Mack; brothers-in-law, Erron Powers and Marquel Daniels; sister-in-law, Eugenia Powers; nieces, Michelle, Erian, Mariah, Azariah, and Aijah; and nephews, LaVert, Kavin, and Zion.
Heath’s career included a beloved stint as the "Heath-Meister" at the 90’s KMXQ radio station in Socorro. He later worked in the restaurant industry before discovering his true passion for construction and remodeling, where he was known as a skilled handyman who could always be relied on.
A loving father and Papa, Heath’s wisdom, guidance, and love will forever be cherished by his children and grandchildren. He was a father who was always there when you needed him, ready to lend an ear or make you a root beer float.
Heath’s legacy of love, humor, and loyalty will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
