HELEN EPPS

September 17, 1937 — February 26, 2022

Helen Delois Tilley Epps was born the second daughter of Earnest and Elizabeth Tilley in Jacksonville, Texas. Helen began her working career at Prairie View College after graduating with her bachelor’s degree in 1959. While working at Prairie View she met her husband Martin Luther Epps and they married April 1, 1961. To this union three children were born Schulonda, Jacqueline and Robert.

Her second job was at Jackson State University after moving from Texas to Mississippi. She being the loving mother she was decided to stop working and became a stay home mom to assure the best for her children.

Once her children were grown she started working as a substitute teacher for Jackson Public School District. She also  went back to Jackson State and earned her Master’s degree.

Helen spent time praying, talking to God, developing a relationship and spending time in His presence!! Believing and standing on this scripture Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with  all thine; heart; and lean not on your own understanding.  In all thy ways seek Him and He shall direct thy path.”
