Helen Joyce Hubbard, a beloved mother, grandmother and aunt, passed away on January 8, 2024, in Dallas, TX. She was born on March 28, 1955, in Dallas, TX to her loving mother Theresa Hubbard. Helen grew up in Dallas and graduated from South Oak Cliff High School.
Helen was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of everyone she met. Her warm and positive energy radiated through her interactions with others. She had an infectious smile that could light up any room. One of the most cherished memories of Helen's life was the first time she met her grandson, Jermaine Shaw. This moment filled her heart with love and joy that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her.
Throughout her life, Helen possessed many admirable qualities. She was known for her kind and caring nature, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Helen had a humorous side as well and had a wonderful knack for making people laugh. Despite facing hardships and challenges in life, she faced them head-on with resilience and determination.
In 2007, Helen made a decision that would change her life forever. She embarked on a journey of personal growth and transformation, leaving behind any negativity in her past and embracing a new chapter filled with positivity. From that moment forward, Helen never looked back and continued spreading love and kindness to everyone around her.
Helen had a variety of hobbies and interests that brought her immense joy. She delighted in watching reality TV shows, immersing herself in the stories and characters onscreen. Additionally, Helen had an adventurous palate and enjoyed exploring different cuisines, particularly soul food which satisfied both her taste buds and her soul.
Above all else, Helen's proudest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren. They brought immeasurable joy into her life, and she loved them fiercely with all her heart. Her son Corey Hubbard, her daughter LaValorie Hubbard, and her grandchildren Corey Hubbard Jr, AsontI Hubbard, Jermaine Shaw, and Amyiah Thomas were the lights of her life. Her beloved niece and cartaker, Topaiza Brown. Helen's love and guidance will forever be cherished by them.
In this time of great loss, Helen will be dearly missed by her surviving family and friends. She is survived by her son Corey Hubbard (Helena); her daughter LaValorie Hubbard, along with her beloved grandchildren Corey Hubbard Jr., Asonti Hubbard, Jermaine Shaw, and Amyiah Thomas. Additionally Helen is survived by niece, Topaiza Brown (Phillip) ; nephews, Malcom Bowman, Walter Brunson (Brenee), Elisha Williams, III, a host of cousins, friends, nieces and nephews who were fortunate to have shared beautiful moments with her throughout her journey.
Services to honor Helen's memory will be held at the Golden Gate Funeral Home and A Crematory located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Fwy in Dallas, TX. The viewing will take place on January 19, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM; followed by a wake service from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM. The celebration of life ceremony will be held on January 20, 2024, starting at 11:00 AM.
Helen Joyce Hubbard filled the lives of those around her with love, laughter, and kindness. Her presence brought comfort and joy to many. As we bid farewell to this wonderful woman, let us remember her for the positivity she shared and the impact she made. Though she may no longer be with us physically, her spirit will continue to live on in our hearts forever. May she rest in eternal peace.
